The iPad 3 will not be released later this year, as had previously been rumoured. That’s according to component suppliers in the Far East, who say they’ve not heard a peep from Apple about the next-gen iPad.
The news comes from Digitimes in Taiwan, which says its sources remain unconvinced that the iPad 3 will be hitting shelves this year. A series of rumours had suggested Apple would be releasing a new iPad in September.
However, with the iPad 2 rumoured to have shifted in excess of 2.5 million in its first month, it seems Apple is happy with the slate as it is. Such a short life-cycle would doubtless also cause plenty of punters to complain.
