Nokia N9: UK release date set for April after MWC launch?

Mobile World Congress takes place 14th-18th February, but the rumour mill is already well and truly spinning. Today’s brought word that Nokia will choose the event to officially launch its much-anticipated N9, with a release pencilled in for April.

If you remember previous coverage on the N9, you’ll know that it’s a 1.2GHz smartphone with more than a whiff of MacBook Air about its aesthetic. The handset will be the first to run on Nokia and Intel’s MeeGoo platform, the new OS designed to bring the ailing Nokia out of its Symbian doldrums and back in the running with its rivals.

The N9 will also sport the superb 12-Megapixel camera found on the N8 and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard with isolated keys. Could this be the phone to turn Nokia’s smatphone business round? Let us know your thoughts on the T3 Twitter feed.
